Sewing teaches more than sewing
Kids leave every class closer to their final creation and the confidence that comes with it. Along the way, they build patience, focus, and creativity. Our students leave each class with skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
Hi, I’m AllisonI’ve never met a kid who couldn't learn to sew.
I was 8 years old when someone first showed me how to thread a sewing machine, and I never got over it. That one skill carried me from my childhood craft room to a fashion design degree at Western Michigan University, to a semester studying fashion in Florence, Italy, and to New York City for an internship at Kate Spade.
In 2020, I opened Clothing Bar, a boutique in Illinois, and brought it with me when I moved to Naples in 2022. The more I taught, the more I knew teaching was where I belonged. In 2024, I closed the boutique and made Sewing Bar my full-time work.
Running my own businesses taught me something I bring into every class: kids can build amazing things when someone shows them how.

A Space Built for Creating
Our new Naples studio is designed for small group learning. Our class sizes are designed for constant personal instruction. Every machine and supply is provided, and the whole space is set up to spark ideas.

Meet Cashew!
Cashew is The Sewing Bar's official sewing pup and resident greeter! He loves welcoming every student who walks through the door and is always ready with tail wags, cuddles, and plenty of moral support during sewing projects. He's become a favorite part of the Sewing Bar experience and can't wait to meet you.
